About the Ken Larson Trio
Ken Larson is a Jazz guitarist from Chapel Hill, NC. His trio plays generally relaxed (but not smooth!) Jazz with an emphasis on Bossa. Favorite composers include: Jobim, Miles, Ellington, Mingus.
The trio features:
- Ken Larson on guitar. Ken also plays lead guitar for the Lids, a local classic rock cover band, and occasionally plays guitar with the local indie rockers Western Civ.
- Lex Larson on upright bass. Lex is Ken's father, and also plays bass for the the Lids.
- Todd Gambling on percussion. Todd is a multi-instrumentalist and arranger, and plays in several other bands: tuba, percussion and vocals for the "Haw River Social and Pleasure Club" guitar, mandolin and vocals for "Sam and the Perfect Strangers", and trumpet and vocals for "The Lids"
